AKUMAL swimming with the turtles |
You drive on our access road to the highway and here you must first of all to the north
- towards Cancun - turn. On the first * * Retorno your changes then the direction and crossing now to the south, towards the TULUM. The departure AKUMAL signposted; you can not
miss it.
|
AKUMAL is in the Mayan language * City * turtle. Here is an example for swimming and
snorkeling with big turtles. For us, this is a somewhat double-edged sword. Because turtles should not interfere in principle - are so please considerate. |
PIZZERIA |
You drive on our access road to the highway and here you must first of all to the north - towards Cancun - turn. On the first * * Retorno your changes then the direction and crossing now to the south, towards the TULUM. The departure CHEMUIL signposted; you can not miss it. Take the SECOND access into town, ride to the crossroads and turn here to the right. After about 20 meters, the Pizzeria on the right side |
Actually we do not give recommendations for restaurants from etc. Here let's set one of
the 3 exceptions. The selection of pizzas is one of the best we have ever found worldwide. In addition, there are numerous alternatives for those who do not have it with pizzas
spotty. In high season the Friday night is to drive almost a must in order to PIZZA LEO. The portions are more than ample. We order z. B. PIZZA LEO EXTRA and get a pizza from the
2 people are properly fed and in addition we take from this order enough with the place to still have a full meal the next day. |
Old stones in TULUM. |
You drive on our access road to the highway and here you must first of all to the north - towards Cancun - turn. On the first * * Retorno your changes then the direction and crossing now to the south, towards the TULUM. After the entrance of Tulum exit to Tulum National Park is signposted; you can not miss it. The park is located to the left of the road. Drive ahead to the parking lot. From there you can see already the high mast from the top of the Artists abseil slowly upside down. This is also the starting point of a small ropeway to the ticket office for the park. Taste a trifle, but definitely better than running in the blazing sun |
Should you love Mayan ruins, you definitely can find more
interesting places. BUT the scenery here in the National Park IS AN AMAZING !!! So definitely a camera / camera remember and ensure that the batteries are charged and yet there is
enough space! |
TULUM

A relatively new, huge supermarket with rich offer. |
COBA |
You drive on our access road to the highway and here you must first of all to the north
- towards Cancun - turn. On the first * * Retorno your changes then the direction and crossing now to the south, towards the TULUM / Chetumal. After the entrance of Tulum you will
drive. Until the first traffic light in front and bends here right towards Coba The road is well marked - just follow the signs. In the villages, especially in Tulum and Coba,
necessarily TOPES eighth! |
was built the ancient ceremonial site during the Classic Maya period (600-900 n. Chr.). [1] In the heyday of the Maya Coba
was one of the largest Maya cities in Yucatan, but she was out of as yet unknown reasons, already at the arrival of leave Spaniards. The city took an area of up to 70 sq km. The
main pyramid is 120 steps and 42 meters high, it is called El Castillo. You can climb up. On the top of the pyramid there is a small ritual room and an altar that was probably
used by the Maya priests for blood sacrifice to the gods. From up here, you naturally have a hell of panorama! |
Sian Ka'an |
We do not like to admit, but we have in all the years 3 times trying to explore the
park make a right. And we have approximately 2 hours ride in the park with our truck, abandoned all 3 times. The road inside the park has no potholes, no it IS from potholes! So
to say * paving upside *. We know a lot of campers who have also tried. The last, which it tried, were after 10 hours back with us in the square and told, among other things by a
Dutch Camper, which had bogged down and they freed from the mud. |
Sian Ka'an is a national park in Mexico. It is located on the
eastern side of the Yucatan peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo. Its territory was in 1986 designated as a National Park, is since 1987 as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO World
Heritage. The name Sian Ka'an comes from the Mayan language and means literally place where the sky was born.
